Australian Van Nationals 2018

VIP – Special Guest Wayne Harrison @ 43rd Australia Van Nationals, Barmera

Thank you to Tony & Julie Collier who invited Wayne as VIP special guest in honour of his 40 years of dedication to the Art of Airbrushing Panel Vans and to feature his work on the “Timeless” panel van. Wayne first started airbrushing panel vans in 1978 under the name “Fantasy Murals”, located in Blacktown and was well known to all.

Sue Kelly is the proud owner of Timeless and many other panel vans airbrushed by Wayne including “Ned”. You can view a collection of these panel vans in our Cars gallery in the Panel Vans category.

Over the weekend long event, Wayne donated the art he painted including a Panel Van tail gate that was auctioned for Make-A-Wish Foundation. Wayne also performed body painting, in particular the rose and thorns artwork on young Jess who had survived life threatening medical issues. The artwork was symbolic for her suffering and rebirth, and Jess wanted to have her story told through it to inspire and empower others dealing with similar experiences. $1000 was raised for Jess to be body painted.

The weekend was an amazing experience, with over $7000 raised and in total almost $15000 raised with Van Nationals which has all gone to Make-A-Wish Foundation. Please view the gallery below with photos from the event and the Timeless Panel Van in more detail, which won many awards with its unique style and has been viewed almost 100,000 times on social media around the world.
